3D Character - Mermaid

This character is a mermaid, she was captured by scientists and is now used as a scout to explore deep-sea regions.
This project was very fun and interesting.
I learned a lot about making a whole character from the concept, to the sculpt, the retopology, the rig, the skin and the animation.
There are some parts I had a hard time with but I like how it turned out in the end and I would love to make other projects like this in the futur.

This is the moodboard I used to make different designs. I inspired myself with various sea creatures and fish.

Here are the iterations for the mermaid. I tried using different shapes to convey different emotions.

Here you can take a glimpse at the rig, it was made using a biped and modifying it to suit the mermaid.

This is a test for the textures. I used a high-poly and baked it on the textures to make the net.
